What Weather Lab does
Compare models
ECMWF, GFS, ICON, ARPÈGE, ALADIN and, in the US, HRRR and NBM — on one chart, side by side.
Your own forecast screen
Add, reorder and resize sections, group them into tabs, and pick a different model for each.
Radar & satellite
Worldwide rain radar with 6 hours of history and a short-term nowcast, plus satellite clouds.
Alerts
Official severe-weather warnings and your own rules, like “wind gusts over 60 km/h”.
Station measurements
Real observations from the nearest weather station in Czechia, Germany, the USA and Canada.
Programmable
Every chart is a small JavaScript template you can open, edit, share and use in widgets.
Frequently asked questions
Why do the models disagree?
Each weather model is run by a different weather service, with its own resolution, physics and starting data. When the models agree, the forecast is usually reliable; when they spread apart, the weather is genuinely uncertain. Weather Lab shows you that spread instead of hiding it behind a single number.
Which model should I use?
High-resolution regional models (ALADIN in Central Europe, HRRR in the US) are usually best for the next day or two. Global models (ECMWF, GFS, ICON) cover the whole world and reach further ahead. You can set a default model in Settings → Default model and override it for any section.
How do I change units, theme or text size?
Open Settings. Temperature, wind speed, precipitation, pressure, distance and clock format can each be set separately.
How do I add or edit sections?
Long-press any section, or tap the pencil at the bottom of the screen, to add, remove, reorder and resize sections. Sections can be grouped into tabs with the + button next to the tabs.
My widget doesn’t update
Widgets refresh in the background, and the system decides how often. Opening the app refreshes them immediately. If a widget follows your current location, make sure location access is allowed for Weather Lab in your device settings.
How do I remove ads, or restore my subscription on a new device?
Open the menu (☰) and tap Remove ads to subscribe. On a new device or after reinstalling, open the same screen and tap Restore purchase. Subscriptions are billed and managed by the App Store or Google Play — you can cancel at any time in your store account’s subscription settings.
How do I delete my account?
Open the menu (☰), tap your account at the top, and choose Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and your unpublished sections. If you can’t access the app, email us from the address linked to your account.
How do I write my own sections?
Read the template coding manual. It describes the drawing API, the weather data available to templates, and how to share and publish your sections.
